How it works
Tell Claude what you want in Claude Code. It edits on LoupeEdit's timeline while you watch, and you can take over at any moment.
Start with what you shot.
Make a project and drop your clips in, or ask Claude to do it: "Make a project called first-try and import my clip."
Pick a shape: 9:16 for reels, 16:9 for YouTube, 21:9 for a cinematic look, or one of three more. You can change it later.
LoupeEdit imports phone footage, 10-bit, HDR and camera log files.
Claude knows what's in the clip.
Before it cuts, Claude reads your footage as text. The words, where each one starts and stops, and who says them (beta). The breaths and the pauses. The beat: every hit in the sound. The sounds themselves, by name, in beta: a door, a glass, footsteps.
Where text isn't enough, Claude looks at small tiles of frames. It finds where the shots change and what's in them.
If Claude heard something wrong, fix it on the clip's Words or Sounds list. Claude trusts your fix over its own.
Describe the cut. Claude makes it.
Tell Claude what you want, the way you'd tell an editor. "Make it 30 seconds." "Tighter in the middle." "Cut on the beat after the chorus."
Claude edits the timeline in steps and tells you what changed, and why.
Before it calls the cut done, Claude checks it: captions in sync, no shot too short, no sound effect off its beat.
Watch it happen.
LoupeEdit's window shows the edit as Claude makes it. If the window is closed, it opens on that project.
Most edits show up in under a second. Press play and watch the cut.
One timeline. One undo.
You and Claude edit the same timeline. There is no copy of the project for each of you.
Undo steps back through every edit, Claude's and yours, in the order they happened. Nothing is lost by trying.
Take over any time.
Trim a clip, move a title, change a grade. Claude sees your edits and builds on them. It never undoes them quietly.
Want to point at something? Press N on a frame, or right-click a clip and pick Note. Your words reach the Claude Code session working on that project, tied to the clips you meant.
You can also edit the whole thing by hand. LoupeEdit works as a full editor without Claude, too.
Claude asks before it renders.
You review the edit in LoupeEdit's window, not in an exported file. Claude makes the edit, says what changed and asks you to watch it.
When you're happy, export from File › Export…, or ask Claude for the file. It renders on your computer, at full quality.
